Irene Budoff: Today's political parties offer stark differences
Call me partisan, but I couldn't help but be startled by the difference between the two parties on the eighth anniversary of the horrors of 9/11. President Obama asked all Americans (and was ridiculed by the right) to dedicate themselves to a day of service to help those injured in the line of service, or do whatever way they could to provide service to someone.
Glenn Beck gave a huge speech on his TV show several months ago asking people to (and I am paraphrasing here) "remember how they felt on 9/12, and get that spirit back."
Well, Saturday I watched that spirit on CNN and saw signs that proclaimed "Bury Obamacare with Kennedy," along with the typical blackface "Obama is a communist/Muslim/foreigner," and the ever-present flat taxer, gun right, birther, Bircher and no Federal Reserve signs.
